Contamination is the number one cause of failure in any lubricated system. By controlling contamination, an effective control of the wear present in the equipment is achieved.
Particle Counting is critical for monitoring fluid in hydraulic systems or turbines for contamination as these systems require low cleaning codes. Its use can also be extended to all lubricated systems, namely bearing monitoring.
Particle counters determine the amount of particles per sample volume (ml) by grouping them according to their size. The results obtained can then be analyzed and expressed in terms of cleanliness codes according to ISO 4406:17, NAS 1638 and/or SAE AS4059.
