Hydrogen continues to gain importance and INEGI reinforces its commitment to training professionals
27 January 2022The "Hydrogen Technologies and Economy" program is back for a 4th edition, taking place from March 8th to April 7th, 2022. Demand in this area continues to be high, which, combined with the success of past editions of the program, motivated the commitment to continue this training offer. The program also counts, once again, with the support of Smartenergy, which also created a scholarship program with INEGI to encourage advanced training and the development of skills and talent in the hydrogen area.
The scholarships are intended for master's students in the fields of engineering, economics and management and science; individuals with higher education in the aforementioned areas, in a career transition phase; or employees of startups and micro-enterprises in the energy area. The application period ends on the 15th of February.
Trainees will explore success stories and "demystify” hydrogen
"Hydrogen appears as one of the key vectors for decarbonization in the basic strategy of the European Green Deal, and promises to play a relevant role in the optimization and decarbonization of natural gas networks, as a vector for increasing the flexibility of energy systems, and as a source of transversal energy in industry and mobility” emphasizes Ricardo Barbosa, co-coordinator of the program.
Knowing the entire hydrogen value chain, with particular emphasis on its technical components, the different business models as well as the regulatory framework, is therefore imperative for professionals in the energy sector and other sectors of activity where the energy transition may have great importance. impact.
Hydrogen-related training supply follows demand
Portugal is positioning itself at the forefront of the European strategy to boost green hydrogen, and the demand for training in the area is proof of the commitment made by several companies in the national industrial fabric.
Among the participants of past editions of the program were employees from various companies, in the energy, industrial and mobility sectors, and the testimonies prove the success of the program.
Participant in the 1st edition of the program, Nuno Fidalgo Martins, who works in the area of Studies and Operational Innovation at REN, left as a recommendation: "Professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of H2 will find in this course an excellent opportunity to do so and a group of teachers with extensive experience in the sector”.
Among the participants in the 2nd edition was Filipe Graça from Iberdrola, who highlighted the program as "a strong complement to all those who develop their activity and work in the market that is under construction. The diversification of themes and actors creates the perfect ecosystem for develop ideas and support conclusions on maturing themes.” Also, Uwe Herleth from EDF Renewables, valued "the excellent trainers, the real and practical cases and the entire international context.”
Renato Ferreira da Controlar SA participated in the 3rd edition, and describes a program that "allowed the demystification of hydrogen, from the fiscal aspects, to the testimonies of those who already work with hydrogen every day. The great diversity of participants offered a global vision, partners to areas outside our scope of action”.
