3D printing: INEGI's new training offer prepares professionals for the future of production processes

22 June 2021
The application period for the program Manufacture Additive / 3D Printing in Industry, which will take place at INEGI, starting on October 6th, is in progress. Click HERE for more details and to know how to apply.

Additive manufacturing technologies, materials, processes, applications, and the role in creating value in the product development chain, will be some of the topics addressed in order to better prepare, with professionals with extensive experience in the area, those who want to maximize the potential of additive manufacturing in their industry.

Guided by Jorge Lino Alves and Luís Oliveira, engineers at INEGI, the classes will take place between October 6th and November 11th at INEGI's facilities. In all, there are 44 hours of training where participants will have the opportunity to acquire skills to develop parts made by additive manufacturing, but also identify opportunities to create value and evaluate business models for the productive technological transition.

As Luís Oliveira, one of the program's coordinators, points out, "additive manufacturing is considered one of the key technologies of the fourth industrial revolution and a 'foundation stone' in the future of production processes”.

"Its advantages – among which are the ease in developing new products, performance, design, cost and speed – will naturally lead to greater adoption of this method of manufacture”, he adds. That's why the course intends to prepare and increase the number of professionals specialized in 3D printing processes. For this, it offers trainees access to the experience capital of the various INEGI specialists, as well as to the Institution's additive manufacturing laboratory.

The program is aimed primarily at industrial, engineering, production, product development or innovation managers, managers or technicians.
