Workshop | Biomass as an Energy Source in Galicia and Northern Portugal
May 22th | 09h00 | INEGI RegistrationPresentation

The remains of forest pruning, shrubs and vines are still undervalued raw materials, despite being abundant in the northern Euroregion of Portugal-Galicia and having an enormous energy and economic potential.
To realize this potential, we organized this workshop to make known, from the territorial context of the Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal, the characteristics and particularities of the use of the various sources of available biomass and how they can be used as a source of renewable and sustainable energy, that promotes decarbonization.
The workshop is structured in two training modules, and a final practical part with a visit to INEGI's facilities and a forest biomass thermoelectric power plant.
The workshop is aimed at anyone who works directly or indirectly in the biomass value chain, whether they are farmers, researchers, specialized technicians or final consumers.
