A research grant (BI) is available in the scope of project PTDC/EME-PME/109116/2008 “Improvement of the meshless radial basis functions method with applications to composite materials” funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
1. Duration and regulations: 6 (six) months eventually renewable, to start in September 1, according to the
regulations of FCT and INEGI.
2. Task summary: Modeling of piezoelectric materials and nanomaterials, application to nonlinear mechanical problems and time dependent problems using a meshless method.
3. Objectives: Modeling of piezoelectric materials and nanomaterials, application to nonlinear mechanical problems and time dependent problems. Development of pre-conditioners and optimization processes based on statistical methods.
4. Scientific supervision: The work program will be held at INEGI under the supervision of Dr. Carla Roque.
5. Requirements: Applicants should hold a MSci degree with strong background in physics, mathematics or mechanical engineering.
6. Remuneration: According to
FCT regulations.
