Technical report on structural failure of photovoltaic structure

The company SOPSEC turned to INEGI for a technical report on the possible causes of a structural problem found in a photovoltaic frame in Calama, Chile. The consulting project led to the identification of the probable causes of the problems, and INEGI also designed solutions to avoid new occurrences.

The consultancy consisted of the on-site survey of the reported structural problems, the evaluation of corrosion, analysis of the original design and problems that were incurred during panel assembly, analysis of transmission mechanisms and systems, and calculations on the original structures and possible changes.

These efforts enabled INEGI to identify the probable causes of structural failure and propose solutions for its resolution, both in the photovoltaic park of Caluma and in other parks already under construction.
