Renováveis Magazine has published an article about the SHIP - Solar Heat for Industrial Processes project
13 August 2019The professional-technical magazine on renewable energy "Renováveis Magazine” published, under the heading "research and technology”, an article about the SHIP - Solar Heat for Industrial Processes project, in which INEGI participated. This article - available HERE - was prepared by the project consortium, which includes, besides INEGI, the companies MCG mind for metal, KEMET Electronics Portugal and OnControl Technologies, as well as the University of Évora.
The SHIP project included the development and demonstration of a holistic system for the generation, storage and direct supply of heat to industrial processes, through the integration of concentrated solar thermal technologies as well as innovative latent heat storage systems (using phase change materials).
INEGI played a significant role in the execution of the project, having participated in several stages of development, "from the energy diagnosis of the target processes, the design of the anti-stagnation system of the modules, the design of the entire installation of thermofluid that integrates the solar concentrator modules and the industrial process, the sizing of the storage system, to the monitoring of the installation work at KEMET Electronics Portugal", said Ana Magalhães.
