Project Objectives
- Creation and validation of a new modelling approach at a highly personalized level
- Generation of biomechanical models which have personalized mechanical properties of the pelvic floor tissues.
- Development and validation of image based 3D ultrasound diagnostic methods that can characterize tissues under dynamic loading (Valsalva maneuver) and which can be linked to biomechanical modelling tools.
- Creation of an ultrasound-based system which can be used as a diagnostic tool for clinicians and researchers and which is a validation tool for biomechanical modelling.
- Generation and validation of a functional diagnostic system which can be used to provide input data for biomechanical models.
- Demonstration of the applicability of the personalized childbirth.
Results/Impact
- Development of a highly customizable modeling approach that ultimately aims to support clinical decision-making and optimize childbirth outcomes.
- Development of a morphing algorithm-based tool for custom modelling.
- Development of constitutive models to characterize different pelvic structures.
