13 INEGI researchers are among the 2% most cited in the world
22 December 2021There are 13 INEGI researchers who are part of the list of the most cited scientists in the world. Known as the top 2% in the world (out of a total of 7 million scientists and researchers), this ranking is carried out by Stanford University and is based on citation metrics to characterize the impact and influence of the work of researchers across the world.
Of the 385 Portuguese researchers referenced in the study, there are 13 affiliated with INEGI. They are: Abílio de Jesus, António Mendes Lopes, António Torres Marques, Armando Oliveira, João Tavares, José Correia, Lucas da Silva, Marcelo de Moura, Pedro Camanho, Pedro Moreira, Pedro Ribeiro, Raul Campilho and Teresa Mata.
They stand out in several areas of research, from energy, composite materials, advanced manufacturing technologies, advanced monitoring and structural integrity, biomechanics and health, among others.
The ranking now published includes data up to the end of 2019, and is updated annually.
